Learning Centre

Effective use of study time outside of the classroom is an important part of being an Aquinas student.

Our students are encouraged to use the College’s ‘one-stop-shop’ Learning Centre to be well informed and supported during their time at College. Five teams provide a range of resources, support and information services across three floors and they actively encourage involvement in the delivery and development of the services provided.

All colleagues work to ensure the Centre is accessible, without prejudice and is an effective place to study. In the Centre you will find Student and Information Services, Library, Learning Support, Careers and IT staff all ready to help with support needs and enquiries.

A wide range of facilities and resources are available including study spaces, IT facilities for work, printing and research and a wealth of information and educational resources.

Term Time

All floors can be accessed from 8.00am each day.

Holidays

The Learning Centre is usually open during the holidays from 9.00am each day. The normal restrictions on visiting the college during holidays apply – you must sign in and out at reception. It is advisable to double check holiday opening times before visiting as the building may be subject to early closure.

Students automatically become a member of the Learning Centre on joining the College, but to borrow resources, use the self-issue terminals or use computers and printers in the Centre you will need to use your College student card. The card is issued soon after arrival, (for L6 and U6 students this is subject to having paid a resource deposit and having had a photograph taken).
